Portugal is widely considered one of — if not the cheapest country in Western Europe. We’re quite shocked by this development considering the appeal it brings. One would do extremely well in renting a car, and simply driving up (or down) the coast. Portuguese villas and AirBnbs in general are very cost-friendly. Porto is a gem of a city, and Lisbon is a true heavyweight when it comes to picturesque locations. It’s a slower pace than Spain and less crowded than Italy. All the while, Portugal is a phenomenal alternative to both.
