14. Maureen “Moe” Tucker (Velvet Underground)

Tucker is revered as much for her approach to playing the drums as her actual sound. While with the Lou Reed-led Velvet Underground, Tucker played standing up and rarely relied on cymbals. Her crescendo on the band’s 1967 hit “Heroin,” wasn’t a favorite of Tucker, but subtly and hypnotically displayed her greatness.
