This Oscar-winning actress has been a cinematic muse for the like of Todd Haynes, Paul Thomas Anderson, Alfonso Cuaron, and The Coen Brothers. Moore became a darling of independent cinema with her appearances in Short Cuts and Safe. Then in 2004, she was cast as the lead in 2014 film Still Alice. Playing a middle aged professor diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, this was one of the best roles of Moore’s illustrious career. She would eventually go on to snag that elusive Best Actress prize.
