Leading man Jake Gyllenhaal was offered the role of Rick Flag in Suicide Squad. A rugged and physically imposing character, it appeared like Gyllenhaal would be a perfect fit. However, Gyllenhaal didn’t see it that way. He turned down the role — which then went to Joel Kinnaman.
